We are open five days a week and two Saturdays of each month to serve the cats, dogs, and other small animals in our community.
Our hospital is fully equipped to provide a wide range of services including vaccinations, laboratory testing, surgeries, dental care, radiology, dermatology, internal medicine, and preventative health measures. Our staff is trained to handle various types of pets and ensure they receive the best possible care.
Services Offered
We understand the importance of vaccinations in maintaining the health of your pets. Our team offers a variety of vaccinations including Rabies 1 and 3 year, DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza), Kennel Cough, Lyme, Leptospirosis, Canine Flu, Rattlesnake, FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirum, panleukopenia), and Feline Leukemia Virus.
Our laboratory testing services include Complete Blood Counts, Chemistries, Early Kidney Function Testing, Pancreatic Lipase levels, Blood Glucose, Thyroid, Tick-Born Diseases, Parvovirus, Feline Immunodeficiency Viruses, Urinalysis, Intestinal Parasite Checks, Pregnancy Screen, and we have access to outside labs for other specialized tests.
We also offer surgical services such as spays and neuters, mass removals, laceration repair, abdominal surgery, bladder stone removal, amputations, eye removals, puppy tail docks and dewclaw removals, and orthopedic specialist available for orthopedic surgeries.
Our dental services include cleanings with ultrasonic scaler and polisher, extractions both simple and complicated. We also provide radiology services including in-house digital x-rays available, with interpretation by a board-certified radiologist as needed.
For pets requiring dermatology services, we offer allergy evaluation and testing, skin scrapes for mange diagnosis, ear cytology, and allergy shots. Our internal medicine services include diagnosing and treating diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, kidney failure, and heart disease.
We believe in the importance of preventative health measures and offer services such as bathing, nail trims, anal gland expression, clipdowns, and carry Interceptor and Advantage Multi for heartworm and intestinal parasite prevention. We also carry Credelio, Bravecto, Cheristin, Provecta, and the Seresto Collar for fleas and ticks.
Meet Our Staff
Our staff is comprised of dedicated and skilled professionals who are passionate about animal care. Dr. Linda Cassens James, the owner, graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She has extensive experience in small animal medicine, surgery, dermatology, dentistry, and preventative medicine. Dr. Jessica Smith Traub graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and has worked in Oliver Springs and Clinton before joining MCAH full-time.
