Empowering Veterinarians, Enriching Animal Care

The San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association (SDCVMA) is a 501(c)(6) Business League and membership organization that brings together over 660 members, comprising veterinarians and veterinary support staff from more than 240 local veterinary facilities. Our membership spans across San Diego and Imperial counties, with a few members also located in Riverside and Orange counties. We strive to promote the art and science of veterinary medicine, fostering a fraternal spirit among our members, and elevating the standards of the profession.

Our Mission

As a membership organization, our mission is to provide excellent continuing education programs, promote the art and science of veterinary medicine, and propagate a fraternal spirit among our members. We aim to foster a community where veterinarians and their staff can learn, grow, and collaborate to provide the best possible care for animals.

Our History

The SDCVMA has a rich history dating back to its inception. Over the years, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of the veterinary profession, staying abreast of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, and providing our members with a platform to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices.

Board Members

Our Board of Directors is comprised of dedicated individuals who share our vision and passion for veterinary medicine. Our Board Members are a mix of veterinarians and veterinary support staff, representing various aspects of the profession.

Professional Staff

Our Professional Staff is dedicated to supporting the SDCVMA's mission and goals. They work tirelessly to deliver excellent continuing education programs, manage our membership services, and provide excellent support to our members.

Membership

SDCVMA Membership is by calendar year, renewing every January. Veterinarian dues are $250 annually, while Support Staff dues are $45 annually. We offer various membership classifications, including Active Membership, Non-Resident Membership, and Affiliate Membership.

Membership Classifications

Our membership classifications include:

  • Active Member: For veterinarians residing or working within San Diego County or Imperial County.
  • Non-Resident Member: For veterinarians residing outside the boundaries of San Diego County or Imperial County.
  • Affiliate Member: For applicants who are currently California Registered Veterinary Technicians.
