Our mission is to offer compassionate, high-quality care in a positive and friendly environment where pets are treated like family members. We understand the value and importance of the bond between pets and owners and strive to honor this bond in everything we do.

Our hospital was founded in May 2007 by Drs. Gerrit and Kimberly Berg, who shared a vision of creating a veterinary practice that would meet the unique needs of pets and their owners. With a strong focus on comprehensive pet care services and technology, we offer a range of services including standard appointments, drop-off appointments, car-side appointments, and telemedicine appointments to accommodate the diverse needs of our clients and their pets.

Our team of dedicated professionals is committed to providing exceptional care. Dr. Gerrit Berg, a UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine graduate, has special interests in soft tissue surgery, breeding, and dentistry. Dr. Kimberly Berg, also a UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine graduate, has special interests in internal medicine, ultrasonography, feline overpopulation management, and preventative medicine. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to ensure that your pets receive the best possible care.

At Five Cities Veterinary Hospital, we believe in the importance of pet comfort and emotional well-being. We are proud to be part of the Fear Free Certification Program, which teaches gentle control methods and strategies to reduce fear, stress, and anxiety in the veterinary setting. This commitment to patient comfort is reflected in all aspects of our practice.

We are also dedicated to serving our community. Dr. Kimberly Berg serves as a Medical Reserve Corps Volunteer, assisting in the COVID response and demonstrating our commitment to supporting the local community.
