The Animal Clinic and Pharmacy is a premier veterinary service provider in western Nebraska and eastern Colorado, catering to the needs of livestock, equine, and companion animals for nearly 65 years. Our team of four full-time veterinarians, six licensed technicians, and support staff across our primary and satellite clinics are dedicated to providing top-notch services to ensure the health and well-being of your animals.

Our Services

At Animal Clinic & Pharmacy, we offer a comprehensive range of services to meet the unique needs of our clients. For our livestock clients, we provide services such as pregnancy diagnosis, ultrasound, aging, bull breeding soundness exams, urogenital issues, preconditioning, complete herd health management, dairy heifer development, obstetrics, podiatry, anesthesia, artificial insemination, and parasal hydraulic portable chute rental. Our equine services include lameness evaluation, pre-purchase exams, PRP, IRAP, ultrasonography, DR radiology, colic surgery, shockwave, acupuncture, artificial insemination, endoscopic exams, and in-house Coggins testing. For our companion animal clients, we offer routine vaccinations, deworming, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, acupuncture, shockwave, endoscopic exams, in-house X-ray and ultrasound, in-house blood work, boarding, and grooming.

Our Team

Our veterinary team is led by owners Ron Moorhead, DVM, and Tara Fanning, DVM, who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our practice. Ron Moorhead is our primary equine clinician, with a special interest in small animal orthopedic surgery and alternative therapies such as chiropractic and acupuncture. Tara Fanning is a truly mixed animal practitioner, serving as head veterinarian for our equine breeding program with emphasis on mare health and advanced reproductive methods. Our associate veterinarians, Nick Lemmel, DVM, and Carrick Perlinger, DVM, bring additional expertise in bovine production medicine, herd analytics, bovine advanced reproduction, small animal internal medicine, and preventative care.
