Celebrating the Human-Animal Bond
White Oaks Veterinary Hospital has a rich history dating back to 1952, starting as the Awkerman Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Loy Awkerman and his wife, Rose, moved to Manheim, Pennsylvania, and established a practice that catered to a variety of animals, with a focus on cows and horses during the day and dogs and cats in the evenings. Over the years, the clinic underwent several expansions and renovations, transitioning exclusively to a small animal practice in 1977. In 1995, Drs. Ron and Lauren Lane purchased the practice, renaming it White Oaks Veterinary Hospital in honor of the property's large white oak trees. The current facility, built in 2011, honors the agricultural heritage of the area with its design resembling a repurposed small stone barn.
