Our Vision

The vision for Coosa Valley Equine Center was developed by Dr. Ed Murray and his wife, Sandra, in the 1970s as an equine veterinary practice with an emphasis on ambulatory service in north-central Alabama. Since then, we have evolved into a full-service referral center dedicated to both medical and surgical care for horses. Our location in central Alabama, 20 miles east of Birmingham and 100 miles west of Atlanta, allows us to provide care to all of Alabama and its adjoining states.

Hours of Operation

Our hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CST, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM CST. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, but urgent/emergency after-hours care is available.
