Our History and Mission
The Miami Animal Hospital has been serving the people and animals of northeast Oklahoma, southeastern Kansas, and southwestern Missouri for over 60 years. Founded in 1950 by Dr. Luther Smith, our practice has persevered through adversity and has played an important role in the history of veterinary medicine on a national level. Dr. Smith graduated from Colorado State University after World War II, and his familiarity with the Miami area was due to his father's visits as a food inspector.
