Our Services
At Freeburg Animal Hospital, we offer a wide range of services designed to meet the unique needs of your pet. These services include:
- Wellness Exams: We recommend annual wellness exams for adult dogs and cats between one and seven years old. Puppies, kittens, and senior pets should have more frequent examinations. These exams help us identify any potential health issues early on and ensure your pet stays healthy.
- Dentistry: Oral health is a crucial part of the overall health of your pet. Periodontal disease is the number one health concern in your pet's mouth. Regular dental checkups and cleanings can help prevent these issues and keep your pet's smile healthy and bright.
- Spay/Neuter: Spaying your female pet and neutering your male pet helps to control pet overpopulation. These procedures can also reduce the risk of certain health issues and undesirable behaviors.
- Preventive Care: We offer a variety of preventive care services, including vaccinations, heartworm testing, and flea and tick prevention. Regular checkups and preventive measures can help protect your pet from diseases and parasites.
Symptoms of Illness
If your pet seems to be slightly off in its behavior, you might be witnessing the first signs of sickness. In most cases, animals will attempt to mask the symptoms and signs of their sickness. This behavior is a natural protective instinct used in the wild to prevent shunning and/or attacks by predators. Any subtle change in your pet's normal behavior could be an indicator of illness. Some common symptoms include:
- Decreased or lost appetite
- Low energy levels
- Blood in urine or stools
- Hiding
- Foul odors from the mouth, ears, or skin
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Abnormal discharges
- Whining or crying
- Seizures
If you notice any of these symptoms, please don't hesitate to contact us. Our caring staff is standing by to help restore your pet to full health.
