Our founder, Dr. Neal Winnacott, received his bachelor's degree from Humboldt State University and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. After completing his education, he returned to the North Coast to open his practice with the goal of serving the local community. Our hospital has been serving our patients in our current location since 2001.

At Redwood Animal Hospital, we offer comprehensive services for your pet, focusing on preventative care such as annual wellness exams, vaccinations, nutritional counseling, and parasite prevention. Our experienced medical team is also here when your pet needs us with urgent care, dentistry, and more. We are dedicated to being your "go-to" when it comes to your pet's health and happiness.

We offer a variety of services including sick visits, pain management, in-house pharmacy, heartworm prevention, flea prevention and control, allergies and dermatology, dental care, laser therapy, surgery, microchipping, and vaccinations. We understand that your pet is a member of your family, and we are committed to providing the best possible care for them.

Our Team:

Our team consists of dedicated professionals who are passionate about animal care. Dr. Neal Winnacott, the owner and veterinarian on staff, has been serving the local community since 1988. Marguerite Winnacott, who manages the office, has worked in clinical laboratories for many years and is also a receptionist and laboratory technician. Tonya Wilson, our veterinary technician, has been with us since 2007 and has a degree in Marine Biology from Humboldt State University. Lisa Gorge, our receptionist, brings her experience from years at Eureka Vet and is dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Crystal Scollard, one of our technicians, has worked in all aspects of the hospital since 1998 and is great with animals and clients alike.
