Who We Are

The Montana Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the science and art of veterinary medicine in Montana. As the voice of the veterinary community in Montana, we strive to promote the health and well-being of animals, as well as the public, by providing education, resources, and advocacy.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote excellence in veterinary medicine, while also advocating for the interests of veterinarians and the public they serve. We achieve this through our various programs, services, and initiatives, which are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of veterinarians, as well as to promote the welfare of animals and the public.

Our Services

The MVMA offers a range of services to its members, including:

Continuing Education

We organize two annual meetings, each providing continuing education credits for veterinarians. Our meetings typically feature leading experts in the field, and cover topics such as veterinary medicine, public health, and agriculture.

Committee Involvement

We have six committees that focus on specific areas of interest, including companion animal medicine, disaster preparedness, large animal medicine, member services, policy and regulatory issues, and practice management. Membership in these committees provides a platform for members to engage with each other, share ideas, and contribute to the development of policies and programs.

Legislative Advocacy

We advocate for the interests of veterinarians and the public at the state level, working to promote and protect the welfare of animals and the public. We also provide a platform for our members to engage with lawmakers and policy-makers, ensuring that their voices are heard.

Professional Development

We provide a range of professional development opportunities, including mentorship programs, scholarship awards, and leadership development initiatives. These programs are designed to support the growth and development of veterinarians, and to help them achieve their professional goals.

Resources

We offer a range of resources to support the professional and personal development of our members, including job boards, practice management guides, and public health information.
