Heritage Equine is a family-owned and operated equine veterinary practice that offers a wide range of services to horse owners in Northern Denver. Drs. Bret and Chelsea Luedke are the partners and equine veterinarians who provide high-quality care to your horses. They are fully mobile and equipped with the latest technologies, including wireless digital radiography and digital ultrasonography.
Our History
Heritage Equine is a product of three consecutive generations of veterinarians in the Luedke Family. Dr. Bret's late grandfather, Dr. Albert Luedke, was a veterinarian. Dr. Bret's father, Dr. Dennis Luedke, is an equine veterinarian in Glenwood Springs, CO, and owned Glenwood Veterinary Clinic for over 25 years. Dr. Bret's sister, Dr. Lauren Luedke, is an equine surgeon at Colorado State University. This family legacy is dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care to horses.

Dr. Chelsea Luedke, Veterinarian, Partner
Dr. Chelsea grew up in Parker, Colorado, and her love for horses was encouraged from an early age. She attended Colorado State University for her Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degrees. She is Acupuncture certified and loves treating a range of patients through holistic approaches.
Dr. Bret Luedke, Veterinarian, Partner
Dr. Bret grew up in Glenwood Springs, CO, where he was exposed to veterinary medicine at a young age. He also attended Colorado State University for his Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degrees. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his kids and engaging in outdoor activities.
Elizabeth Livermore, Veterinary Assistant
Liz joined the Heritage Equine team in 2021 and loves learning and assisting Drs. Bret & Chelsea with various procedures. She is certified in Equine Massage and is currently pursuing her Masterson Method certification in equine bodywork.
Dr. Lauren Luedke, Consulting Equine Surgeon
Dr. Lauren grew up in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where she spent much of her childhood riding in the mountains and competing in the quarter horse and reining circuits. She also attended Colorado State University for both her undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
