At Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services, we are dedicated to providing a compassionate and comforting alternative to traditional clinical euthanasia. Our team of skilled professionals, led by Dr. Laura Summers, are committed to making the experience of pet loss as gentle as possible by offering in-home and mobile pet euthanasia services.

Our team is comprised of individuals who have a deep understanding of the bond between pets and their owners, and we are committed to ensuring that the end-of-life care for your pet is handled with the utmost respect, dignity, and compassion. We understand that saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy, and we strive to make this difficult process as stress-free and comfortable as possible for both you and your pet.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is simple: every pet deserves to live and pass away with dignity and respect. We believe that the end-of-life care for your pet should be guided by compassion, empathy, and kindness. Our team is dedicated to providing personalized care and attention to each pet and their family during this difficult time. We believe that every pet should be treated as if they were our own, and we strive to ensure that their final moments are filled with love, comfort, and peace.

Meet Our Staff

Dr. Laura Summers, the owner and founder of Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services, is a California native who graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School in 1998. Throughout her career in veterinary medicine, Dr. Summers observed a deficiency in the way end-of-life care is addressed with companion animals, which fueled her desire to provide alternative options to standard clinical euthanasia. She believes that these emotional and difficult times of transition are best facilitated in a setting that is comfortable and familiar to both the family and the pet.

Dr. Caitlyn Lennon, a passionate and dedicated veterinarian, joined Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services after completing her undergraduate degree at UC Davis and earning her veterinary degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Throughout veterinary school, Dr. Lennon developed a passion for community medicine and became president of the student chapter of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. She feels she has a true calling for guiding pets and their people on that end-of-life journey.

Katrina Petty, a communications coordinator at Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services, is a graduate of California Lutheran University with a degree in communication. Prior to joining SVVS, Katrina was a communications coordinator at Signature Travel Network and board member for a nonprofit travel organization where she managed communications at all levels and promoted giving back to impacted tourist destinations. Throughout her time with SVVS, she has worked diligently to provide compassionate care to every patient during one of the most difficult times in pet ownership.

Our Community

At Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services, we believe that pets are more than just animals; they are members of our families. As such, we strive to provide a compassionate and comforting environment for both pets and their owners during the end-of-life process. We understand that the bond between pets and their owners is deep and meaningful, and we aim to honor that bond by providing personalized care and attention to each pet and their family.

Pause for Paws

In addition to our in-home and mobile pet euthanasia services, we also offer a variety of resources to help pet owners cope with the loss of their beloved pet. Our "Pause for Paws" program is designed to provide pet owners with the support and guidance they need during this difficult time. Whether it's providing information on how to know when it's time to say goodbye, offering tips for coping with pet loss, or simply being a listening ear, we are here to help you through this challenging journey.

Organizations We Sponsor

At Sacramento Valley Veterinary Services, we believe in giving back to our community and supporting organizations that share our passion for animal welfare. We sponsor several organizations dedicated to improving the lives of animals and promoting compassionate care for pets and their owners.
