Duke Animal Clinic is a full-service veterinary clinic located in the western suburbs of Mobile, Alabama. Our clinic has been providing the highest quality of animal health care since 1979, when it was first established by Dr. Andrew Duke. We are proud to offer a wide variety of services to meet the needs of our patients, from Abyssinian cats to Zebras. Our clinic is located on the west side of Schillinger Road, 2.25 miles south of Airport Blvd. and 0.7 miles north of Cottage Hill Road.

Meet Our Team

Our team at Duke Animal Clinic is made up of highly trained and experienced professionals who are dedicated to the health and well-being of our patients.

  • Dr. Andrew Duke: Dr. Duke has been providing veterinary care for over 40 years. He has a special interest in animal dentistry and was one of the founding members of the American Veterinary Dental Society.
  • Dr. Emily Black: Dr. Black joined our team in 2018 and has a special interest in feline medicine.
  • Dr. Laurence E. Galle: Dr. Galle joined our team in 2020 and has a special interest in canine medicine.
  • Christine Schlecht, LVT: Christine is our clinic supervisor and has been with us for over 20 years.
  • Val Gignilliat: Val is one of our receptionists and has been with us for over 10 years.
  • Michelle Oliver: Michelle is one of our receptionists and has been with us for over 5 years.
  • Sierra Killeen: Sierra is one of our assistants and has been with us for over 2 years.
  • Leah Walker: Leah is one of our assistants and has been with us for over 1 year.
  • Shelly Bell: Shelly is one of our primary care assistants.
  • Byron Carter: Byron is one of our primary care assistants.
  • Ashley DeMouy: Ashley is one of our primary care assistants.

Canine and Feline Care

At Duke Animal Clinic, we understand that your pets are part of the family. That's why we offer comprehensive care for both canines and felines. Our annual exams are of utmost importance for the care of your pet. During these exams, we will check for any signs of dental disease, which is a common problem in both dogs and cats. We will also provide instructions on proper dental care for your pet and demonstrate how to brush their teeth.

Equine Care

Our clinic offers a wide variety of services for our large animal clients, including routine health care, vaccinations, dentistry, and herd consultations. We also offer ambulatory/farm calls for the convenience of our clients. Our equine services include:

  • Routine health care needs: Vaccinations, dentistry, deworming, and herd consultations
  • Examinations: Annual exam, colic exam, dental exam, insurance exam, lameness exam/performance evaluation, medical exam, pre-purchase exam, and reproductive exam
  • Diagnostics: Radiology and endoscopy
  • Laboratory diagnostics: Complete blood count (CBC), comprehensive equine health profile, liver profile, T4 (Thyroid monitoring), fecal flotation, cytology, Coggins test, and urinalysis
