Greensprings Veterinary Service, LLC is proud to provide general veterinary care for all species in the GreenSprings and Lincoln, Oregon region. Led by Dr. Gail Colbern, our team is dedicated to supplying top-notch care for your animals in the comfort of their own environment. We understand the importance of well pet care and offer a full line of vaccines and deworming products to keep your pets healthy. Our mobile services allow us to visit your animals on your schedule, and we are always available for consultations on general health, nutrition, breeding, and end of life issues.

Emergency Services

In emergency situations, Dr. Colbern will triage the situation and can refer the patient for appropriate therapy. If you have a veterinary emergency and can't reach Dr. Colbern, please call Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center at 541-282-7711. They are open 24/7 and can help you out.

Equine Medicine

Dr. Colbern brings equine medicine expertise to the Rogue Valley. She specializes in managing sick horses and can provide diagnostic services, treatments, and referral as needed. Our team is dedicated to providing the best possible care for your horse in a stress-free environment.

Equine Reproduction

Greensprings Veterinary Service is known for its expertise in equine reproduction. Dr. Colbern specializes in management of problem mares who have failed to conceive or carry a foal to term. Breeding Soundness Examination (BSE) of the mare are conducted at the farm. Corrective reproductive surgery of the mare can be performed at your location or in the Green Springs Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Colbern also attends non-surgical dystocias.

Well Pet Care

We understand the importance of preventative care for your pets. Our team offers a full line of vaccines and deworming products to keep your pets healthy. We also provide consultations on general health, nutrition, and end of life issues. Our mobile services allow us to visit your pets in their own environment, reducing stress and making it easier for you to keep your pets up-to-date on their care.

About Dr. Gail Colbern

Dr. Colbern received her DVM degree from UC Davis in 1982. She completed an internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at University of Georgia, Athens and a residency and Master's program in Equine Reproduction at Colorado State University, Ft. Collins. She completed Board Certification in Theriogenology (Animal Reproduction) in 1988 and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Reproductive Immunology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1992. Dr. Colbern has extensive research experience in management of the transitional mare, equine endometritis, reproductive immunology, and equine reproductive surgery techniques.

After retirement from research, Dr. Colbern returned to her roots of veterinary medicine and equine reproduction. She established a general veterinary practice in the GreenSprings area outside Ashland, Oregon. The GreenSprings Veterinary Service supplies general veterinary care to all animals in the GreenSprings and Lincoln, Oregon area. Dr. Colbern also provides equine reproduction specialty services to the entire Rogue Valley.
