We established Midwest Equine & Veterinary Hospital in 1999 under the leadership of Dr. Roger D. Beam, a 1993 graduate of Purdue University. Our full service facility in Central Indiana provides reproduction, medicine and surgery for horses with ambulatory and haul-in appointments to help maintain healthy animals. We are located in close proximity to IndianaGrand, Hoosier Park, Hoosier Horse Park and Brown County State Park. Our team also sees small animals on an appointment basis alongside our equine practice. We stand some of the best bred racing stallions in the Nation eligible for the Indiana bred program.
Our facilities are expanding and we welcome future stallion prospects. We offer artificial insemination, shipped and frozen semen breeding, and embryo transfer. We have experience managing problem mares and hard breeders. We provide foaling care for mares and full year occupancy for broodmares and breeding stallions. We are capable of hospitalizing horses for prolonged medical and surgical needs with gas anesthesia and 24 hour observation. We perform many elective surgeries as well as routine and emergency procedures.

Stallion Standing
We stand some of the best bred racing stallions in the Nation eligible for the Indiana bred program. These stallions produce offspring capable of competing anywhere in the country and we welcome future stallion prospects. Our expanding facilities support professional breeding management and semen shipping for clients nationwide.
Equine Surgery
We perform routine, elective and emergency surgery for horses requiring medical or surgical intervention. Gas anesthesia and 24 hour observation are available for safe perioperative care. Our hospital can accommodate prolonged medical and surgical hospitalization for complex equine cases requiring extended care.
Ambulatory Care
We offer ambulatory and haul-in appointments for horses throughout Central Indiana. Our mobile services provide reproduction, medicine and surgery close to equine facilities including IndianaGrand and Hoosier Park. Clients receive convenient on-site care and access to hospital services when prolonged treatment is needed.
Embryo Transfer
We provide embryo transfer services for mares and breeding stallions seeking advanced reproductive options. Our experienced team manages problem mares and hard breeders with proven protocols for successful embryo collection. Clients benefit from full year occupancy, foaling mare care, and coordinated semen shipping support.
