At Hide-A-Way Small Animal Clinic, we pride ourselves on being a family-oriented and animal-loving team dedicated to providing the highest quality care to your beloved pets. Our story began with Dr. Jason Beard, who grew up in Frankston, Texas, and went on to attend Tyler Junior College and Texas A&M before graduating from the TAMU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. After gaining experience in mixed animal practice, he purchased Hide-A-Way Small Animal Clinic in 1999 to focus on companion animal care. He is joined by his wife Kathy, a native of Lindale, whom he married in 1988, and together they have two daughters and a menagerie of pets.

Our team is comprised of highly trained and experienced animal lovers who share a passion for delivering exceptional care to our patients. We believe in treating every patient as if they were our own pet, with the same love and attention. Our dedicated team is committed to providing comprehensive care, from routine checkups to surgical procedures, and everything in between. We take the time to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and work closely with you to ensure your pet receives the best possible care.

Kathy Beard, our licensed veterinary technician and owner, has extensive experience in the veterinary field, from private practice to TAMU Veterinary Teaching Hospital to State Diagnostic Laboratory. Her expertise in management duties keeps our clinic running smoothly. Together, Dr. Beard and Kathy Beard have dedicated their lives to assisting owners and pets in leading a wonderful quality of life.
